7 of the best ways to enjoy a trip to Surrey Quays this summer

Looking for things to do in Surrey Quays this summer? With a whole host of restaurants, shops and leisure activities, here are our top tips for how to get the most out of your visit.

With stores open until 8pm Monday-Saturday and 5pm Sundays, and some restaurants open until 10 or 11pm, we’ve got plenty to tempt you with.

1. Enjoy a taste of Vietnam at Café East and Banh Mi Bay

While a holiday abroad might be out of reach this summer, Café East and Banh Mi Bay – two of the many Surrey Quays food options – serve up delicious authentic Vietnamese home cooking. For a quick bite to eat, head to Banh Mi Bay for one of their famous Banh Mi Baguette Sandwiches, pho noodle soups, rice boxes and noodle salads. Alternatively, Café East has a menu of over 30 dishes to chosen from. All freshly prepared to order, dishes use only the freshest and finest ingredients.

2. Dine with family and friends at Frankie & Benny’s

Bringing together the best of American and Italian, Frankie & Benny’s has an extensive menu for breakfast, lunch and dinner. If you have little ones in tow, Frankie & Benny’s know how to keep kids happy, and parents relaxed: good food and great fun. Their kids’ menu offers lots of tasty mains for big and little eaters alike – plus healthy, vegetarian and vegan alternatives too. For when they get a bit restless, kids can turn to their fun, free activity packs to keep them entertained. Heading with friends for an evening of fun? Choose from a range of F&Bulous burgers, freshly cooked pasta, succulent steaks and BBQ ribs, light and crispy pizzas and much more. There are also a variety of delicious drinks from cocktails, mocktails, wines and beers to soft drinks and shakes.

3. Feast on pizza at Pizza 1889 and Pizza Hut

Following in great Italian pizza making traditions requires craft, a love of fresh food and a whole lot of theatre – and Pizza 1889 Surrey Quays knows the score. With its dough and rich tomato sauce made fresh onsite and the best ingredients sourced, where possible, direct from Italy, you’re bound to get a taste of Italy during every visit. Whether you opt for one of their smaller pizzattas or grande pizzas, there’s the potential to deliver your pizza in 60 seconds flat using their spectacular six-foot hand-built stone oven, capable of reaching 500c.

If American-style pizza is more your thing, head to Pizza Hut. Whether you like a Stuffed Crust, All American Thin, Original Pan, vegan or even gluten-free, each pizza comes with a salad, and if you fancy even more sides then you can get three for just £13.99. If you’re after a lighter bite, then Pizza Hut’s loaded flatbreads have less than 550 calories each. This summer they have also launched some extra-cheesy specials, including the Melting Steak & Chorizo pizza and Chicken-izo Melt, and there are some great deals to be found, including discounts for groups of four or more, so it’s worth checking their website before you set off.

4. Live life in the fast lane at Hollywood Bowl

We’ve been cooped up for such a long time, so now it’s time to have some real fun. With 28 lanes to bowl along, a private VIP area, an American-style diner, a buzzing bar and a fun-filled amusements area – Hollywood Bowl Surrey Quays makes a great day or evening out. It’s worth checking out the website in advance too, as you’ll often find great family package deals.
