The gift of giving back

In 2022, we want to continue giving back to some of the amazing people and charities that do such wonderful work in our community.

We know that charities across our communities continue to need our support more than ever, so our giving boxes are here to stay.

Located outside Poundland, visitors can use contactless payment to easily donate £3, £5, £10 to Surrey Docks Farm, The Mayor of Southwark’s Common Good Trust, Time & Talents or Southwark Young Carers.

Thank you for helping us to continue to support these amazing organisations. Find out more about their work below.

The Mayor of Southwark’s Common Good Trust

The Mayor of Southwark’s Common Good Trust, is a local charity for people in Southwark, from cradle to grave. It has provided support for over 40 years, for items such as household goods, school uniform and baby essentials that are essential for meeting basic needs to help the client to live in dignity.

The work is carried out entirely by volunteers, independent from the council, their work relies on donations from the public and our fundraising efforts. During the pandemic the team provided food hampers and shopping vouchers to various clients who were in need.

Surrey Docks Farm

Behind the gates, the Farm delivers a range of educational community projects and workshops to engage those who would benefit most; including children and young people and adults with learning disabilities. Participants take part in animal care, food growing, healthy eating, rural crafts, and environmental projects; spending as much time as possible getting active outdoors. The Farm gave away over £800 worth of food grown on-site to local families in need during the first lockdown.

With your support the team look forward to reopening in the future to reach even more people and provide green recovery for thousands of people post the pandemic.

Time & Talents

For 133 years, Time & Talents has worked to connect the local community, reduce loneliness and build friendships. During the pandemic the covid-19 emergency relief food hub is delivering essential food supplies weekly to those local households most in need. Your donations are vital to keeping the operations running through the winter and we're grateful for any donations.

Southwark Young Carers
