Following an increase in incidents of commercial fly tipping at the recycling bins in the Surrey Quays Shopping car park, a decision has been made jointly by the centre management and Southwark Council to remove the facility. The British Heart Foundation textile bins will remain, but are now located within the car park, closer to the shopping centre entrances.
We apologise for any inconvenience caused, however the build-up of waste in the area created an eyesore and presented a potential health risk. The Council already provides local residents with recycling facilities directly to their homes for recyclable household waste, and also provide a site on Old Kent Road where residents can dispose of larger items such as furniture free of charge.
Please help us to keep the area tidy by continuing to alert us of any incidents of fly-tipping in the shopping centre boundary.
